Professor and IRB Chair
Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences
Boston, Massachusetts
I am a philosopher and bioethicist at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS University) in Boston. I have served as Chair of the University's Institutional Review Board (IRB) since 2006, and am a member of the MCPHS Center for Health Humanities.
My published work explores the philosophy of medicine and bioethics, including research ethics, as well as early modern philosophy and the philosophy of education. More recently, I have been writing about ethics and autism. For 10 years, I worked with social scientists to examine ethics in the practice of community-based research.
