Nicole Foti is a Hecht-Levi Postdoctoral Fellow at the Berman Institute of Bioethics at Johns Hopkins University. She completed her doctoral training in sociology at the University of California San Francisco, specializing in medical sociology and science and technology studies. Nicole is interested in how we can develop and govern health innovation to better address ethical, social, equity, and justice concerns. Her research program has two themes. One theme focuses on political economy questions, examining the relationship between legal and economic structures in biomedicine and equity. The second area examines the construction of knowledge, who participates in scientific and technological innovation, how that shapes knowledge production, and who benefits.
