Leilani R. Graham (she/her), BA, is a writer and healthcare consultant based in Los Angeles. Having survived four cardiac arrests and a complicated heart transplant, Graham uses her arts background to teach, write, and speak about her passion for healthcare reform. A former Googler, she has consulted for Medtronic, Verily Life Sciences, PCORI, the FDA, Myokardia (now part of Bristol Myers Squibb), The American Heart Association, and various other health tech companies. She served as Director of Patient Advocacy at Clara Health, leading a team of diverse chronically ill patients to directly improve clinical trial recruitment.
Her writing has been featured at The Mighty and the End Well Foundation and won recognition for the 2020 Kalanithi Award via Stanford Medicine. She has most recently been affiliated with the Children's Hospital Los Angeles Child Life and Volunteering departments. Leilani is training to become a Certified Child Life Specialist through the University of California (SF and SB) and is earning a Masters in Practical Ethics with an emphasis in Bioethics at Oxford University.
