Laura Stamm is Assistant Professor of Health Humanities and Bioethics and Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for the Department of Medicine at University of Rochester. She is also currently a fellow in the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's Health Equity Scholars for Action program; she is studying the impact of legislation and institutional policy on clinicians' care for transgender and gender-diverse youth across the country. Her research in LGBTQ+ health combines her interests in transgender studies, visual culture, bioethics, and feminist theory. She has articles published in several academic journals, including Alphaville, MAI: Feminism & Visual Culture, Spectator, and TSQ: Transgender Studies Quarterly, and her book project, The Queer Biopic in the AIDS Era, was published in 2022 with Oxford University Press.
