My name is Jade Samanta (he/him/his), and I am a third-year medical student at Saint Louis University School of Medicine (SLUSOM). While in medical school, I have served on SLU hospital's Ethics Committee, served as a leader for our school's Healthcare Ethics Distinction and Learning Community, and have conducted scholarly research in the realms of public healthcare policy and social issues surrounding gender expression and gender-affirming care. My specific research interests include: COVID-19 vaccine mandate policies during the national pandemic (and how they set a precedent for future public health crises) and how emerging treatments for gender dysphoria are changing the field of medicine by altering its primary aims.
