Emily Pellegrini Olson, BS, MEng, is a current student in the Master of Science in Bioethics Degree Program at Harvard Medical School. She works as a Senior Clinical Research Specialist in neurosurgical device engineering at Medtronic. Emily received a BS in neuroscience from Tulane University and an MEng in healthcare systems engineering from Lehigh University. Her work focuses on the development of surgical technologies for the treatment of cranial and spinal diseases. Her interest in bioethics focuses on the intersection of neuroethics and neurodisability. Emily has authored 20 peer-reviewed publications spanning multiple clinical research domains and received a Star Research Achievement Award for excellence in original investigative research from the Society for Critical Care Medicine. Emily’s hobbies include trail running, spending time with her dogs and cat, and exploring breweries overseas with her husband, who is in the military and currently on assignment in Rio de Janiero, Brazil.
