Patrick D. Herron, DBe, HEC-C is a Clinical Ethicist at the Montefiore Einstein Center for Bioethics and an Associate Professor in the Department of Family and Social Medicine with a secondary appointment in the Department of Epidemiology and Population Health at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He also holds an adjunct appointment in the Department of Family Medicine at Georgetown University School of Medicine. In addition to bioethics, his scholarly interests include LGBTQ+ health education and advocacy; inter-professionalism education; and social media use among health professionals. He completed his Doctor of Bioethics at Loyola University Chicago and Master of Bioethics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Dr. Herron is Chair Emeritus of the Ethics and Humanities Educators in the Health Professions and Residency Training Affinity Group for the American Society for Bioethics and Humanities. He also serves on the editorial board for the Journal of Hospital Ethics, on the Advisory Board for Medical Student Pride Alliance, on the executive planning committee for BNGAP's annual LGBT Health Workforce Conference, and he is a former member of the Board of Directors for the Academy for Professionalism in Health Care.
