Northwestern University’s Master of Arts in Medical Humanities & Bioethics offers a unique experience among graduate programs due to its focus on exploring medicine and ethics through the humanities. Through lively seminars in beautiful downtown Chicago, MHB students learn how to think like a historian, anthropologist, lawyer, philosopher, and literary scholar. Combining the MA with a professional healthcare degree, MHB graduates apply their interdisciplinary toolkit to ethics leadership roles, research and publishing, medical education, and policy and advocacy work. This graduate program is just one way in which Northwestern’s Center for Bioethics and Medical Humanities works to improve healthcare through bioethics and medical humanities.
