The HMS Center for Bioethics offers virtual and in-person Masters and certificate fellowship programs, drawing on the rich intellectual resources of our medical school and University. Our mission is to ensure that scientific progress, medical therapeutics, and health care practices are developed and implemented hand-in-hand with consideration of the central moral questions raised by advances in the life sciences and biotechnology. Our educational research and service programs prepare current and future professionals and leaders to address bioethics questions in clinical care, research, and public policy, and engage the public in understanding and addressing ethical aspects of health care and biotechnology. Our current areas of topical focus for 2024-2025 are responsible AI in medicine, moral leadership in medicine and healthcare, and global health equity including the effects of climate change.
